This year’s VIP Party promises to be a night of fun, while honoring our generous home and garden owners, thanking our many cash sponsors, and raising money for Garden Oaks Montessori Magnet at the auction.

The party kicks off on Saturday April 28th at 7 pm. We’re keeping it local again this year, and have rented the entire Berryhill’s Baja Grill & Cantina on Ella at W. 43rd for our festivities.
Tickets will go on sale March 15th here, and will be priced at $75 each. Your ticket will include a self-guided tour of all the featured homes and gardens from 5:30 to 7 pm, and the party itself will run from 7 to 11 pm. Foods will include a queso station and plenty of passed heavy appetizers. That will allow you time to peruse and bid on all the fabulous auction items available. Each attendee gets 2 free drink tickets and there will be a cash bar as well.

Please join us for an evening of celebrating Garden Oaks and all the people who make it a great place to live!

Garden Oaks is north of the 610 Loop between Ella and Yale, moments from the vitality of downtown Houston and right in the midst of dynamic retail and restaurant expansion.

Garden Oaks is one of Houston's most sought after neighborhoods. This unique community of towering trees and winding streets has approximately 1400 homes and has enjoyed an influx of new residents. From charming bungalows to plantation, ranch, contemporary, and traditional style homes, Garden Oaks supports diverse updates while maintaining its charm and sense of history. Because of its excellent location, mass appeal, oversized lots, greenspaces, and booming property values, Garden Oaks is the choice for many.

In 1937, Edward L Crain established Garden Oaks on a tract of land just north of the Houston Heights. Comprised of five (5) sections, Garden Oaks originally offered a unique blend of mid-century homes—mostly pier and beam cottages. The western edge of the neighborhood was comprised of G.I. homes built for returning veterans after World War II. Currently, all five sections have seen an abundance of renovations and newly constructed homes.

The Garden Oaks Home & Garden Tour proceeds directly benefit the Garden Oaks neighborhood and surrounding community, including special projects in local area schools (elementary, middle, and high school), the Garden Oaks Constable patrol, the Garden Oaks Citizen Patrol (GOCP) program, the monthly Gazette, and neighborhood beautification.

In 2004, the Civic Club decided to hold the tour in even-numbered years.
