There are several organizations active in Garden Oaks. Most are run solely by volunteers; if you're interested in helping out, use the contact information for each to find out how. For those that are unfamiliar, here are some brief descriptions of the organizations active in the neighborhood. The Garden Oaks Civic Club (GOCC) exists for the purpose of providing a forum for the residents to problem solve and become more cohesive as a neighborhood. The Garden Oaks Maintenance Organization (GOMO) is charged with deed restriction management and enforcement for Garden Oaks. The Garden Oaks Gazette is the official publication of the Garden Oaks Civic Club and is published on a monthly basis. PDFs of recent issues and some inserts are available. The Garden Oaks Home and Garden Tour brings people from all over to see our lovely neighborhood. We have begun work for the 2010 Home Tour. They are always looking for volunteers to serve on the committee. The Garden Club maintains Friendship Garden and meets to share enthusiasm for the type of out-of-doors that can be found in our own back yards. Garden Oaks Kids (GO Kids) is a group for families in Garden Oaks. |
